Family Mourns 21-Year-Old Killed During Domestic-Related Stabbing Inside Lanham Home

Loved ones are mourning after the tragic death of a 21-year-old Maryland man in what police say was a domestic-related stabbing.

Cristo Johnson of Lanham was fatally stabbed at a home on the 8000 block of Greenfield Drive around 7:15 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 25, Prince George’s County Police Department said.

Police Corporal Antonia Washington said in a statement to WUSA9 at the time that Johnson was stabbed by a woman he lived with and that the the incident was being investigated as a “possible self-defense case amongst family members.” Her identity was not released, and detectives are working with the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office to determine whether charges should be filed.

Loved ones remember Johnson as someone who “touched the lives of those around him with his incredible smile.”

“On January 25, 2024, my beloved grandson, Cristos Miguel Johnson, tragically passed away at the young age of 21,” reads a GoFundMe launched by Joan Rivera for the grieving family’s support.

“He leaves behind two younger siblings who absolutely adored him and will miss him dearly.”

Nearly $1,200 had been raised to support Johnson’s funeral costs as of Wednesday, Feb. 7.

“Please make a donation to help us honor the life and memory of Cristos,” writes Rivera.

“Every donation, in any amount, is greatly appreciated. Thank you and may the Lord bless you and keep you.”
